Pyridine

We learned about pyridine, which is a chemical substance made from acetaldehyde, ammonia and formaldehyde mixed with a catalyst and reacted at 250-500 degrees Celsius at atmospheric pressure. It is used in dyes, solvents, and pharmaceuticals.

Many drugs and pesticides contain a pyridine moiety. Examples include antimicrobial agents, antiviral agents, antioxidants, antidiabetic agents, anti-malarial agents, anti-inflammatory agents, psychopharmacological antagonists, and antiamoebic agents
